Jody grew up on a cow-calf operation in the small farming community of Fisher Branch, Manitoba. As a youth, she was an active member in the local 4-H Club. When she completed 4-H, she was selected as a 4-H Ambassador. In 2002, Jody participated in the W. Garfield Weston Foundation 4-H UK Exchange, where she traveled to the rural United Kingdom to experience agriculture and resources abroad. While attending the University of Manitoba, Jody studied Agriculture and competed in varsity Track and Field. She went on to the Western College of Veterinary Medicine in 2002, where she graduated, with distinction, with her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine in 2006. After graduation, Jody was an Associate Veterinarian in a mixed animal practice for 4 years. In 2010, Jody decided the time was right to begin her own mobile large animal practice; which has grown into a full service, mixed animal practice. Jody is an avid hockey player, golfer and rides her motorcycle to work during the non-snow seasons! She shares her home with her Standard Poodle, Tam.
